Therapy can be a haven, an exploration, or a catalyst. My practice is built on the understanding that we all deserve time and attention to consider the landscape of our past, relationships, patterns, and desires. This experience is unique to the therapeutic relationship.
My background is working with emerging to late adulthood, life transitions, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, and issues related to chronic illness, familial and romantic relationships, and work. I use a psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive lens to provide a supportive and warm environment where we can observe, question, collaborate, and experiment together. This often involves psychoeducation and a dose of humor. My time navigating life in the city also provides me with an understanding of its special challenges and pressures.
Meg Bowers, LMSW is a Licensed Master Social Worker with an MSW from Silberman School of Social Work, Hunter College, and a BA from Wesleyan University. Before training as a therapist, she worked in art institutions, among other positions.
