I offer a respectful, honest, and collaborative relationship that serves as a space to explore your story, struggles, and goals. My approach is relational, culturally-sensitive, and creative, using skillful listening to deepen understanding. My primary lenses include: attachment theory, which emphasizes the critical, formative role of early relationships in our lives and well-being; psychodynamics, which aims to understand how our pasts influence us in ways we may not be aware; and existentialism, which grapples with conflicts inherent to life, such as the search for meaning. I also emphasize the role of culture in our lives, understanding each of us in social and political contexts that impact our freedoms, opportunities, and general health.
I have experience working with adults across the lifespan. My specialties include: relationship concerns; grief; issues with identity and self-esteem; domestic violence and intimate partner violence; mood and anxiety disorders; anger; chronic pain; trauma; and work with individuals with substance use concerns, including those involved in medication-assisted opiate treatment. But regardless of what brings you to therapy, I welcome you as you are and I am interested in getting to know you and how you experience the world.
