I hold a deep belief in the transformative power of therapy. It’s a partnership where both therapist and client work together to explore challenges and foster change. My role is to create a safe, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I value the uniqueness of each person, tailoring my approach to fit your specific needs and goals. I understand that taking the step to seek help can feel overwhelming and even scary. However, I firmly believe that with the right support, therapy can become a powerful catalyst for growth and healing.
My practice is informed by a mix of therapeutic models, allowing me to adapt to the specific needs of each client. During a previous role while practicing at St. Mark’s Institute for Mental Health, my primary strategy utilized cognitive behavioral therapy approach (CBT). This technique helps clients recognize and reshape negative thought patterns, promoting healthier behaviors and emotional well-being. Other approaches include psychodynamic, understanding the influence of the past on present behavior is crucial. My psychodynamic approach encourages clients to explore their unconscious processes and past experiences. This insight can lead to deeper self-awareness and meaningful change. In addition to psychodynamic.
In addition to thought processes and patterns of the unconscious, I also explore how trauma plays a role in many of our everyday lives. While working as a supervisor in foster care, I was able to recognize signs and impact of trauma while simultaneously working with families to navigate a challenging system. Recognizing the impact of trauma on mental health is central to my practice. I am trained in trauma-informed techniques that prioritize safety and empowerment, allowing clients to process their experiences at their own pace.
I am dedicated to supporting you on your journey toward personal growth and fulfillment. Together, we can delve into your story, uncover insights, and pave the way for meaningful change. I look forward to the opportunity to walk alongside you in this transformative process.
